RAC is looking for a Functional PaaS Designer with Oracle HCM Application Composer and Page Composer experience. This is a functional delivery role — not a developer position. You will extend Oracle HCM using Oracle's low-code extensibility layer to meet client requirements beyond standard configuration, govern the extension catalogue, and produce developer-handoff specifications that are precise enough to build from without interpretation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Govern the extension decision framework — assessing every non-standard requirement against the hierarchy of options and recommending the approach that solves the requirement with the least implementation risk and the smallest upgrade footprint
• Configure Oracle Application Composer custom objects — designing top-level and child business objects, defining field types, configuring field-level validation logic, and integrating custom objects with Oracle HCM's standard approval and notification framework
• Configure Page Composer and Page Designer to customise HCM UI layouts — adding hints, making fields conditionally required, hiding fields from specific user populations, and reordering page sections across both Redwood and non-Redwood pages
• Own sandbox management governance — defining the sandbox strategy, managing conflict resolution when parallel configuration streams affect the same pages, and preventing the most destructive sandbox mistake: publishing a sandbox that overwrites another team's approved configuration
• Produce Extension Design Documents at a precision level that allows a developer to build without re-engagement — including upgrade-safety notes that tell the client's support team which extensions require post-patch regression testing
• Advise on Groovy scripting requirements — translating business rules into scripting specifications for developer implementation and reviewing delivered scripts for logical correctness against the original requirement

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 4–5 years of Oracle HCM functional experience with hands-on Application Composer and Page Composer configuration on at least two live delivery projects
• Demonstrated ability to design and build custom business objects, configure field validation rules, and deliver page customisations independently without developer support for the functional layer
• Proven sandbox governance experience — has managed a multi-team sandbox environment and prevented configuration conflicts
• Experience producing Extension Design Documents for developer handoff — not just internal notes, but artefacts that another party can build from
• Client advisory experience — has presented extension options and their trade-offs to business stakeholders and defended the recommendation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications HCM Process Essentials certified — the foundational HCM credential; at Senior level this is a baseline expectation
• Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud Implementation Professional — PaaS extensions are built on top of Core HR; module depth is essential for designing extensions that survive quarterly updates
• Oracle Cloud Platform Application Integration 2024 Specialist — for consultants who extend into OIC-based custom UI integrations beyond Application Composer
• Groovy scripting certification or demonstrable project experience — Oracle's Application Composer Groovy API is not formally certified but hands-on project evidence is the equivalent signal

• Cutover communication — presents go/no-go recommendations to project leadership with a clear rationale that holds up under pressure
• Client data team governance — sets quality gates, holds external data owners accountable, and escalates through the project structure without damaging the relationship
• Migration risk articulation — translates data quality issues into business impact language that project leadership can act on, not just technical error counts
• Delivery accountability — owns the migration workstream outcome, not just the individual load runs
• Mentoring delivery — builds junior consultant capability through structured review, not just observation
• Structured escalation — knows the difference between a data quality issue that can be resolved and one that requires a go-live date conversation.

BUSINESS & CONSULTING SKILLS

• Extension advisory credibility — presents build-versus-configure options and their trade-offs to business stakeholders and defends the recommendation with evidence
• Developer handoff precision — produces Extension Design Documents that a developer can build from without clarifying questions; ambiguity in the spec is a delivery risk
• Upgrade risk communication — explains quarterly release implications to client IT teams in terms they can act on, not just flag
• Sandbox governance leadership — manages multi-team configuration discipline and enforces process without becoming a bottleneck
