Location: Bucharest (hybrid: 2 days in-office / week)

Your role:

As a senior member of our engineering team, you'll play a key role in shaping the functionality, structure, and performance of our banking platform. Your contributions will have strategic importance, influencing both technical direction and delivery quality.

Specifically, you will:

• Lead the design and development of technical blueprints, which serve as the foundation for scalable, secure, and maintainable software components
• Translate business needs into detailed technical architectures, ensuring they align with banking standards and best practices
• Review and validate implementation of blueprints by junior and mid-level developers
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and continuous knowledge-sharing across squads
• Proactively improve our architecture to support better integration, performance, and modularity
• Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end alignment on system functionality

Our blueprint approach:

Blueprints are a core part of how we work. Blueprints are detailed technical design documents that define the behavior, structure, and flow of a feature or integration before any code is written.

As a senior team member, you will:

• Author and review blueprints, ensuring clarity, technical soundness, and maintainability
• Train and mentor junior developers on how to interpret and implement from blueprints
• Use blueprints as a central tool for communication, estimation, and quality control within squads.

Ways of Working Blueprint-driven development, Pair Programming, Agile squads.

How you fit in:

Were looking for someone whos not just a strong developer, but a leader, a mentor, and a systems thinker:

• 7+ years of experience in backend software development, ideally in financial or enterprise systems
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and high-volume database applications
• Proven experience in system architecture, technical design, and integration with third-party systems
• Strong background in writing and implementing blueprint-level documentation
• Excellent understanding of clean code principles, performance optimization, and secure development practices
• Previous experience mentoring engineers and reviewing large codebases
• Strong communication skills in both Romanian (C1+) and English (B2+)
• Bonus: Experience in banking or other regulated industries.

Recruitment process:

Applications will be subject to a first screening. The suitable candidates will be invited to complete a questionnaire that evaluates their general knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Candidates who pass the questionnaire will be asked to participate in a coding challenge to test their endurance and developer skills during an extensive assessment.

Any candidate that scores at least 70% in our coding challenge is rewarded for their effort.
