DBaaS is one of the main environments contributing to the Think Forward Strategy. It’s the first step toward helping ING produce the same products and services throughout the entire world.
DBaaS provides and maintains a database platform based on Oracle in an automated fashion to applications teams who can spend all their time developing new application features without having to take care of the database (patching, upgrade etc).
As Oracle Engineer within DBaaS you will be part of a bigger set of teams who create high quality DBaaS Cloud Services for our ING consumers worldwide. Your team specifically is the team that is
Responsible for creating/maintaining Operations provided to Consumers via a Self-Service Portal.
In this role you will prepare and maintain the Code Repository, pipelines and create test new features provided by DBaaS. You will Interact with other teams within ING to build and maintain features for our consumers.
The team
The purpose of the Global Tribe Cloud is to build and run the target infrastructure platform in a (private) cloud delivery model. This delivery model is based on multi-tenant, self-service, pay-per-use capabilities for applications of DevOps teams as defined in the One Way of Working.
Oracle Database as a Service (‘Oracle DBaaS’) is part of the Area Data Services and is all about delivering multi-tenant Oracle database services to DevOps teams of ING worldwide, including self service capabilities. The 6 DBaaS squads, working in different countries, take responsibility for the full life-cycle of the service from inception through to development, launch & support. The squads are not only responsible for the service, but also the hardware the service running on.
Roles and responsibilities
For this role we are looking for someone to fill the following responsibilities:
Experience with Oracle RDBMS layer (RAC, DataGuard)
Experience with managing a multi-tenant Oracle environment
Well versed in Azure Devops, CD/CI tools and pipelines.
Scripting experience (Ansible, Bash)
Good knowledge of ExaData
Linux RHEL experience
Experience with building and running pipelines (Azure preferred)
