Job Description

Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (with Exadata)

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle Exadata environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing mission-critical Oracle databases to ensure maximum availability, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in Exadata

    environments (on-premise or Cloud).
  • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Manage database performance tuning, storage allocation, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and Exadata performance issues.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and application teams to ensure database reliability and scalability.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripts and tools (e.g., Shell, Python, or Ansible).
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor Exadata hardware components (cells, InfiniBand, storage servers) and coordinate with Oracle support for issue resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database environments, configurations, and procedures.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or

    related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, including 2+ years with Exadata

  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database versions 12c, 19c, or later.

  • Proven experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.

  • Solid understanding of Exadata architecture, smart scan, storage cells, and IORM.

  • Familiarity with performance tuning (SQL tuning, AWR, ASH, OEM).

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Exadata is a plus.

  • Strong scripting skills (Shell, PL/SQL, Python preferred).

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Exadata certification is a plus.
