Job Description

Optimiza is looking for a proficient Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems, ensuring efficient performance, data security, and reliability. Your expertise will help in shaping the database architecture and support our various projects through optimal data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) to ensure high availability and accessibility of data.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning and index management.
  • Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Design and enforce database policies and procedures to safeguard data integrity and security.
  • Work closely with developers to optimize database queries and design schemas that support application performance.
  • Conduct database migrations, upgrades, and performance assessments.
  • Provide support for database-related incidents, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies related to database management.
  • Assist in training junior team members and provide leadership on database-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
  • Expertise in SQL and experience with multiple database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certifications in relevant database technologies are a plus.
