Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Type of work: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site in Bucharest)

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of enterprise database systems, including Oracle (AIX OS), Oracle Exadata on Linux, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL on Linux. The role encompasses installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery management, and disaster recovery planning. This position requires close collaboration with development, testing, and user support teams to maintain high service availability and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and administer Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases across AIX and Linux environments, including Exadata systems.
Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, flash copy, and snapshot technologies.
Develop and maintain automated administrative scripts for tasks such as media rewriting, data anonymization, and system health checks.
Implement and manage Disaster Recovery solutions, including Oracle Data Guard, Microsoft Always On, and HA/DR configurations for PostgreSQL.
Apply security patches and critical updates (PSU, CPU) for Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL systems in accordance with security and compliance requirements.
Provide technical support for user access management, as well as development and testing teams.
Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure high availability and optimal efficiency.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in enterprise database administration, with expertise in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL technologies.
Strong technical knowledge of AIX, Linux and Oracle Exadata environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages, including KornShell, Bash and PowerShell.
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions such as RMAN, flash copy and snapshot technologies.
Demonstrated ability to implement and manage Disaster Recovery solutions, including Oracle Data Guard and Microsoft Always On.
Skilled in applying and managing database security patches and system updates.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Strong communication abilities, with a proven track record of supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
