Role Purpose:
As the Oracle COA Manager, you will be the deputy to the Senior Oracle COA Manager as the primary execution partner. The role ensures day‑to‑day discipline across COA governance, change management, design assurance, and period close execution, while coordinating closely with Finance, Technology, and business units. As a key continuity and succession role, the Deputy provides depth in decision support, drives consistent application of global standards, and ensures controls, documentation, and stakeholder alignment are maintained across BAU and transformation initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. COA Governance & Data Stewardship (Execution & Oversight)
Act as a deputy data steward for the Oracle Global COA, supporting integrity, consistency, and alignment across business units.
Manage the day-to-day operation of the COA change lifecycle, including intake validation, impact analysis coordination, documentation, and implementation tracking.
Prepare materials and support the running of the COA Change Control Board, including request analysis, recommendations, decision logging, and follow-up actions.
Enforce segregation of duties and role design standards for COA-related activities across central and BU teams.
Support control execution by ensuring evidence is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
2. COA Design Support & Stakeholder Engagement
Support the Lead as a design authority for COA and related finance structures across BAU and new business unit onboarding.
Coordinate and document cross-functional impact assessments, working with Finance, Technology, and downstream system owners.
Assist in balancing global design standards with local requirements, ensuring deviations are justified, documented, and approved.
Serve as a key point of contact for BU queries on COA design, providing clear guidance aligned with global principles.
Work closely with Group Tech to translate functional design into Oracle configuration requirements.
3. Project Delivery & New Business Unit (BU) Onboarding
Lead or co-lead fit-gap workshops with business units and implementation partners to validate COA and finance design decisions.
Support knowledge transfer from system integrators and implementation partners into internal teams.
Ensure COA structures, governance artefacts, and readiness activities are in place for Oracle rollouts.
Maintain and update design documentation, decision logs, reference models, and SharePoint artefacts.
4. Continuous Improvement & Design Governance
Track and manage open design items, risks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
Identify recurring issues, data inconsistencies, or control gaps and propose pragmatic remediation actions.
Support continuous improvement of COA governance, design standards, and operating processes.
Assist in maintaining transparency across stakeholders through structured tracking and reporting.
5. Others
Act as the designated design lead for new business unit onboarding, providing oversight of end‑to‑end Oracle design across COA, data integration, finance operations, budgeting, and related finance processes, through all phases of delivery from design and build to testing and implementation.
Act as cover for the Oracle COA Lead when required, representing the function in governance forums and stakeholder discussions.
Support onboarding of new team members and contribute to building sustainable internal capability.
Participate in cross-workstream initiatives requiring Oracle COA alignment e.g. Coupa, Workday.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the broader Oracle Finance transformation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Experience
10 – 15 years of experience in Finance Operations, Finance Systems, or Finance Transformation roles.
Hands‑on experience in using ERP system, familiarity with Oracle will be an added advantage.
Good understanding of CoA design concepts and principles.
Experience in insurance or financial service industries will be an added advantage.
