Job Description

This role is responsible for the delivery of data-driven applications and analytical solutions across the programme, combining expertise in Oracle APEX development, analytics engineering and data science enablement. The position will design and develop reporting solutions, dashboards, lightweight applications and analytical proofs of concept (PoCs), leveraging the client’s Oracle Cloud environment, including ADW, OAC, Fusion and OIC.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and maintain secure Oracle APEX applications to support analytics, reporting and workflow requirements across the Defence programme.
• Develop and maintain Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) dashboards, data visualisations, semantic models and automated reporting solutions, translating complex data into meaningful business insights.
• Support data science and AI initiatives through data preparation, feature engineering and model input development, collaborating with AI Engineers to deliver analytical proofs of concept (PoCs).
• Work across Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), Fusion data sources and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to curate, transform and maintain high-quality, well-structured datasets.
• Contribute to data migration and transformation activities, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, traceability and auditability throughout the transition from legacy systems.
• Apply security-by-design principles, including appropriate access controls, governance and logging, in line with the requirements of regulated MOD environments.
• Work within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams, partnering with APEX Developers, Data Engineers, Integration Specialists and business SMEs to deliver scalable solutions.

Essential Skills

• Strong Oracle APEX development expertise, including application development, forms, processes, security configuration and performance optimisation.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), including dashboard development, Data Visualisation (DV) and RPD/semantic modelling.
• Experience working with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and a strong understanding of Oracle Fusion data structures.
• Strong technical capability across data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL optimisation and analytics engineering.
• Proven experience collaborating with Data Scientists, AI Engineers and/or Machine Learning Engineers to support the development and delivery of data-driven solutions and analytical workloads.
• UK Citizen and hold a minimum of active SC clearance.

Desirable

• OCI and OIC experience.
• Exposure to ML/AI concepts and ability to support data preparation for AI workloads.
• Defence/central-gov experience.
