The OR Assistant 2 is responsible for transporting patients, specimens, blood products, instruments, equipment, and supplies to designated locations. Responsible for restocking surgical suites and support areas and disinfection of operating rooms and equipment as needed. Able to precept new staff, as needed. Will assist with positioning and procedural preparation of the patient when needed. Identifies and reports situations that require intervention to the clinician of operations. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.Manages patient care assignments in accordance with hospital standards. Remains alert to changes in patient condition and promptly reports any significant signs and symptoms to assigned licensed nursing staff. Perform disinfection of operating rooms and equipment in accordance with hospital protocols. Ensure all surgical areas are properly cleaned and maintained to meet infection control standards. Restock surgical suites and support areas with necessary supplies and equipment. Able to precept new staff as needed. Will assist with positioning and procedural preparation of the patient when needed. Identifies and reports situations that require intervention to the clinician of operations.
High School Diploma or GEDBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red CrossSix (6) months experience in a patient care setting.Technical Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesUnderstanding of hospital protocols, procedures, and patient care delivery standards. Strong organization and time management skills to complete tasks within established timeframes. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Cooperative and flexible approach to teamwork in high paced environment. Understanding of service excellence models such as Showtime and AIDET. Responsible for restocking surgical suites and support areas and disinfection of operating rooms and equipment as needed. Ability to foster a respectful and welcoming environment for patients and visitors
