The OR Administrative Analyst, in conjunction with Surgical Division Chiefs, Medical Directors and the Perioperative Business Manager, will work to identify revenue driving and innovative cost savings through block utilization opportunities, billing, and charge capture. The OR Administrative Analyst facilitates and coordinates the Perioperative Surgical Services Operating Room schedule, supports fiscal and time management objectives of Perioperative Surgical Services by seeking and coordinating clinical and administrative services through effective interactions with the health care team.
•Assign operating room and blocks times to maximize efficient use of resources.
•Partner with division surgical coordinators to book cases.
•Manages block schedule and actively works to fill time with internal and external providers.
•Work with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physicians’ requests and patients’ needs and surgical case data entry.
•Works to identify cost savings and revenue capture opportunities through block utilization analysis, at the service and physician level.
•Partners with physicians to understand coding and block utilization opportunities.
•Hands on approach in communication to physicians and practice management in regards to block utilization and cost.
• Works with EHR analyst when implementing changes for surgical scheduling and case request process.
•Facilitates Perioperative Business Review Meeting and Senior Perioperative meeting.
•Analyze productivity measurements and targets.
•Participates actively in process improvement and adoption of standard work.
•Utilizes Microsoft Word and Excel to develop and prepare letters, memos, agenda items, newsletters and reports in order to maintain effective communication between physicians, offices and ancillary departments.
•Utilizes Microsoft Excel to prepare month and year end graphs and reports.
•Other duties as requested.
