What you'll do:

As an Optometrist at Key City Vision Center, you will provide comprehensive, personalized eye care to an established patient base while maintaining the high level of service for which the practice is known. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive eye examinations and vision evaluations; diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions; providing spectacle prescriptions and individualized vision recommendations; performing contact lens examinations, fittings, evaluations, and follow-up care; educating patients about eye health, treatment options, lens choices, and preventive care; using modern diagnostic technology; maintaining accurate and timely documentation; and collaborating with experienced optical and support staff. The experienced team manages much of the non-clinical patient experience, allowing you to focus primarily on excellent patient care. This position offers 30-40 hours per week.

You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgment, professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to thorough, high-quality eye care. You work well with an experienced team while remaining comfortable practicing independently, taking ownership of patient care, and helping shape the future growth and direction of the practice. Experience is preferred, but established optometrists and newer graduates who are a strong fit for the practice and community are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry program.
• Current Iowa optometry license or eligibility to obtain Iowa licensure.
• Good standing with applicable licensing and regulatory bodies.
• Ability to provide comprehensive eye examinations and routine contact lens care.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to collaborate with an experienced optical and support team.
• Appropriate professional liability coverage.
• Ability to complete required credentialing and enrollment with applicable insurance plans, if participating in insurance-based care.

Preferred Specialties:

• No specific specialty is required. Experience or interest in dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, myopia management, or other areas that could expand the services offered by the practice is welcomed. Candidates interested in developing a specialty area within the practice are encouraged to apply.
