Job Description

An exciting mobile Optometrist opportunity is available covering Aberdeen City and the wider Aberdeenshire area. This role offers variety, strong clinical exposure, and excellent forward planning, making it ideal for an Optometrist who enjoys working across different environments while remaining well supported.

Your rota will be prepared at least six weeks in advance, giving you clear visibility of where you’ll be working and plenty of time to plan travel.

About the role and practices:

• Mobile role covering practices across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire
• Rota planned a minimum of six weeks in advance
• Branches vary in size but are typically busy, with most having more than one test room
• Majority of clinics worked alongside another Optometrist, with occasional solo testing in smaller practices
• Equipment varies by branch, with many practices using phoropters
• Where trial frames are used, brand-new trial frames are in place
• All branches equipped with slit lamps, fundus cameras, and state-of-the-art visual fields machines
• All test rooms will be equipped with phoropters and OCTs within the year, with OCT installation prioritised for branches requiring mobile cover
• All branches participate in the LES Grampian scheme
• IP-qualified Optometrists can also sign up to the GOS SS scheme

Clinical development and support:

• Access to specialist centres within the group for glaucoma and myopia management
• Support from dedicated and hardworking front-of-house teams across all branches
• Qualified Dispensing Opticians available within some practices
