- Travel to surrounding HEA offices to provide Optician and Contact Lens coverage as clinic locations require.
- Provide superior patient care services, treating all patients and guests with compassion and respect.
- Communicate effectively with patients, guests, colleagues, physicians, and leadership.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain compliance with HEA policies and procedures, patient confidentiality standards, OSHA requirements, and all State and Federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area and waiting room.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
- Saturday coverage may be required.
Floater Optician / Contact Lens Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with eyewear and contact lens needs while providing exceptional customer service.
- Review and verify the accuracy of eyewear and contact lens prescriptions.
- Educate patients on vision insurance benefits, eyewear options, contact lens products, and pricing.
- Train patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care techniques.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding eyewear, contact lenses, medications, or treatments, referring clinical concerns to the Optometrist as necessary.
- Enter patient specifications, contact lens orders, charges, discounts, and supply orders accurately into the system.
- Manage insurance claims, prescription tracking, eyewear and contact lens orders, returns, and exchanges.
- Maintain contact lens inventory and ensure proper sterility and handling of lenses and supplies.
- Assist patients with resolving issues related to prescription eyewear or contact lenses when appropriate.
- Support clinic operations by adapting to workflow needs across multiple HEA locations.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for appointments.
- Process patient documentation and update patient demographics accurately.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, collect payments/copays, and process daily reports.
- Triage incoming calls and voicemails promptly and direct messages appropriately.
- Close out daily batches promptly and accurately.
- Provide a professional and courteous check-in/check-out experience for patients and guests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and waiting area.
