About Us:Silverthornes Opticians is a well-established independent practice located in the heart of Salisbury. As we grow, we're looking to welcome an enthusiastic Optical Assistant to our friendly team.
About the Role:As our Optical Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of the practice – the first person patients see or speak to when they get in touch. You’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and caring patient experience.Ideally, you have some experience working in Optics.
Key Responsibilities:
Greeting patients and visitors with a warm, professional manner
Booking and managing appointments via our digital system
Answering phone and email enquiries efficiently
Taking payments and handling till operations
Keeping reception tidy, stocked, and patient-friendly
Updating and maintaining patient records
Pre-screening patients, dispensing
Assisting with frame selection, repairing and adjustment of frames
What We’re Looking For:
This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in optics
Excellent communication and people skills
Confidence using basic computer systems
Organised, dependable, and detail-oriented
Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure
Working Hours:3 days a week, including some Saturdays
