Avicena is a privately held company developing microLED based ultra-low power high bandwidth interconnects for chip-to-chip communications.  This technology will revolutionize High-Performance (HPC) and Cloud computing, as well as other industries where low power interconnects are critical like camera sensors, autonomous vehicles, and aerospace. Avicena is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with a development center in Edinburgh, Scotland. About the role:

Assemblemicroopticaldevices usingOpto-Mechanicalsetups:

• Set up andmaintainoptical alignment stations

• Perform measurements onmicro-optical devicesusing micro-manipulation stages

• Assemble small optical componentssuch as micro-lensesusing epoxy

• Collect data from arrays of optical components and subsystems including LEDs,photodetectors

• Collect data using various optical and electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, optical power meters, powersupplies. Specialized optical measurement tools.

• Process data according to instructions.Document Procedures, resultsand performcalibrations 

• Collaborate with engineers andother team members to resolve technical problems.

Requirements:

• Technicalschool orAssociate’sDegreeinrelated field. Optical, Engineering, Physics

• Computer literacy(Processingdataand analysis)

• Experienceasan OpticalAssemblyTechnicianor related role

• Experience with optical fibersand alignment.

• Knowledge ofprecision epoxy assembly techniques

• Very goodhand-eye coordination

• Excellentproblem-solvingskills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Excellentteamwork andinterpersonal/communication skillswithin the company and with partners, customers, and consultants.
