The Division of Habitat & Species Conservation is comprised of six Sections and two offices. This position works within Wildlife and Habitat Management Section (WHM) of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Division of Habitat and Species Conservation.
Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and 2 years of secretarial, administrative support, or office clerical work experience is required.
Preferred Requirement A Bachelor of Science degree in a business-related field is preferred.
Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes preferred.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Assistant to join our team of employees within the Wildlife and Habitat Management Section of FWC. FWC’s Southwest Region is seeking a motivated applicant that can provide secretarial and staff support for the District Biologist, Lake Wales Ridge WEA lead area biologist and staff. Activities in support of these positions include: 1) processing invoices, requisitions, purchasing card charges, and other administrative paperwork; 2) assisting with procurement of commodities and services; 3) assisting in developing and tracking operational budgets and plans; 4) preparing and organizing all correspondence and project-related files; 5) providing routine clerical support, including managing correspondence, maintaining stocks of office supplies, and photocopying; 6) maintaining calendars and making meeting or travel arrangements; 7) researching and assembling data for reports; 8) receiving and routing telephone calls; 9) responding to public requests for publications, rules, status of projects, and other information; 10) providing assistance to other sections/offices/divisions; and 11) completing other duties as assigned or needed.
