AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position performs professional work in the Department of Elder Affairs’ CARES preadmission screening program and evaluates the medical needs of clients for the establishment of appropriate placement in the Long-Term Care System.

PAY:

Salary will be $125.00, hourly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides technical assistance, medical interpretation, expertise, and in-service education to staff as needed.

Participates in interdisciplinary planning and Title XIX Level of Care determinations.

Interacts with the client’s attending physician and medical staff as a representative of the assessment team as deemed necessary.

Certifies Level of Care in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Section 59G-4.290 and 59G-4.180.

Evaluates assessment team’s placement recommendations to prevent premature nursing home admissions and to ensure the least restrictive and most appropriate placement setting is recommended.

Represents CARES at Administrative Hearings as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the CARES Program Operations Administrator.

REQUIREMENTS:

Licensure as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy.
