The incumbent in this position provides technical and business support for the Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX) state and local agency data sharing system including auditing, user administration, issue tracking & resolution, software testing and training.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

    • Assisting Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX) users and agencies in the evaluation and delivery of services pursuant to the contract and service level agreements;
    • Developing and delivering training programs and materials for both online and in-person trainings to end-users and administrators across Florida including State agencies;
    • Building and maintaining working relationships with agencies to facilitate on-going communication regarding Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX);
    • Traveling to agencies to ensure continued participation in data sharing and to enhance law enforcement access to investigative data;
    • Providing system usage assistance to end users and ensures monitoring the adherence to established standards set forth in the contract and other controlling documents;
    • Serving as the liaison between agencies, vendor, and the metadata planner team;
    • Conducting troubleshooting of service requests and problems reported by end-users escalating technical issues to the vendor, and verifies resolution of issues;
    • Forming a close working relationship with stakeholders, the vendor, agencies and LInX users, and demonstrates a customer service posture at all times; and

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of information sharing, basic computer operations and information analysis;
    • Knowledge of basic computer operations, systems, and procedures;
    • Ability to discern the unique culture and management principles of participating agencies and aid in the design, support, and implementation services that meet those needs;
    • Knowledge of current database auditing techniques and security standards;
    • General knowledge of Law Enforcement Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems, and Computer-Aided Dispatch Systems;
    • Ability to effectively develop and deliver training materials in an organized way to a variety of audiences;
    • Ability to communicate technical information effectively both verbally and in writing;
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
    • Ability to identify the needs and concerns of information users; and
    • Ability to assess future information needs so that the data integration needs of the agency and the solution evolve in an appropriate manner.

    • $28.89/ hour

OUR SALARY & OPS BENEFITS:

Starting hourly salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy. FDLE is a State of Florida Employer and offers a comprehensive OPS benefits package (ONLY available to OPS members who will be working 30 or more hours a week), including:

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

NOTES:

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
