Your Specific Responsibilities:
Specific duties include:
Cleaning floors, furniture and windows in clinics and exam rooms to health department sanitation standards. Perform deep cleaning in clinical spaces as scheduled. Remove trash from exam rooms in accordance with Health Department standards for disposal of waste.
General office cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors in hallways, public spaces and conference rooms. Empty trash cans in offices and public areas, clean windows, handrails, doorknobs, push plates and other high contact areas to sanitation levels established at the Department of Health
Cleaning lavatories, commodes, mirrors, glass doors and drinking fountains. Keep dispensers stocked with paper towels and toilet paper. Maintain inventory in custodial storage rooms to ensure adequate supply of cleaning materials, paper products, maintenance items such as light bulbs, trash bags, sanitizers, and report inventory levels regularly. Will be tasked with receiving delivery of supplies, transporting cases via hand truck or carts to storage areas, unpacking deliveries and restocking storage rooms shelves.
Monitor facilities both inside and out for safety concerns, complete safety inspections as listed on DOH checklists including monthly fire extinguisher inspections and reporting safety concerns to the supervisor.
Assisting in maintaining the professional appearance of the Department of Health Facilities in Walton County, keeping both inside and outside spaces clean and orderly.
Will participate in department and staff meetings and report any concerns, suggestions and observations regarding the facility to the supervisor. Performs active duty during disaster as required, may be indeterminate periods of time. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Qualifications:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, physical ability to mop, clean, disinfect, sweep and provide general Environmental Services in a medical and office setting, ability to effectively provide customer service to the staff, clients and visitors to the Department of Health Facility, ability to enter data into a computer after specific skills training, ability to identify maintenance issues and provide solutions to correct basic facility repairs, ability to read and understand Material Safety Data sheets and requirements, willingness to learn proper handling of hazardous materials/chemicals safety, willing to learn proper handling, disposal and storage of bio-medical, valid driver's license, and willing to learn to identify safety hazards.
Preferred – Mechanical aptitude for light maintenance in building repair and preventative maintenance practices, experience with safe work practices, training or experience using robotic cleaning technology, inventory control training or experience, use of Tablet / I pad for data entry, flexibility in work schedule to accommodate special projects.
