Job Description:

LMS and Course Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain online courses and learning experiences within D2L Brightspace or Articulate Rise.
  • Apply instructional design, accessibility, and visual design principles when developing and updating courses and learning experiences.
  • Utilize Brightspace/Articulate Rise features, HTML, CSS, and other approved technologies to create and enhance online learning experiences.
  • Create, organize, and maintain course content, learning materials, resources, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other project stakeholders to develop and improve courses and learning experiences.
  • Conduct quality assurance and accessibility checks to ensure courses meet established standards for content, functionality, navigation, and accessibility.
  • Ensure integrated tools/applications and SCORMs perform as intended.

Course Project Management and LMS Support

  • Take ownership of assigned course development and revision projects, working with project stakeholders to complete deliverables and meet established timelines.
  • Manage and maintain assigned courses and learning experiences, including routine updates, revisions, and improvements.
  • Communicate with instructional designers, content reviewers, subject matter experts, and program staff regarding course development and updates.
  • Maintain course documentation, version history, and other records needed to support course continuity and ongoing maintenance.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to support improvements to existing courses and learning experiences.
  • Assist the Instructional Design team with the development of learning materials, course activities, and other project needs as assigned.

Troubleshooting and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Troubleshoot LMS, course, and learning experience issues and escalate more complex concerns to appropriate team members when needed.
  • Respond to internal stakeholder questions and requests related to LMS functionality and assigned courses.
  • Document reported issues, resolutions, and course changes according to established team processes.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and quality assurance activities for course launches, updates, and LMS enhancements.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues affecting course quality or functionality.

Expected Salary:

$31.00/hour

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent

combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with instructional design principles, adult learning practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and accessibility standards for online learning.
  • Experience designing and developing online courses or learning experiences using D2L Brightspace, Articulate Rise, or similar learning technologies.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well as eLearning standards and technologies such as SCORM.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Experience working in an academic or educational setting and collaborating with subject matter experts, instructional designers, program staff, and other stakeholders.
