Occasional to moderate travel required.

NOTES:

JOB DUTIES:

The candidate will be responsible for exotic plant species identification, treatment and monitoring. This position will require the candidate to safely handle and use herbicides to control exotic plant species. The candidate will be required to operate 4x4 vehicles, UTVs and small utility trailers within the forest. The candidate will also be required to use GPS units, data logs, and paper maps to help locate exotic plant species and to navigate through the forest.

The candidate will also assist with maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment assigned to the job. Along with these duties, the candidate may be asked to assist in other forestry operations, such as timber marking, forest maintenance, plant and wildlife surveys, etc.

This job is primarily a field position that will require the candidate to work during inclement weather including heat, cold and rain. Applicant must be able to work in a forested environment with little or no assistance from others and understand the risks associated with working in natural areas, including flora, fauna and terrain.
