Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Industrial Electrical Technician will be a self- starter with a “Can Do” attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic, work environment. Some key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to: General electrical maintenance, including inspections, repairs, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issue, along with the commitment of training and developing apprentice(s).

Safety

• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are always followed while working within the facility, including and not limited to the operation of heavy equipment (forklift, etc.).
• Meet the expectations of all Irving Personal Care employees in following site and enterprise-wide policies and procedures.
• Actively promote an autonomous and compassionate safety culture.

Electrical Maintenance

• Maintain, repair, install, test, and troubleshoot electrical parts, controls, motors, and pneumatic controls.
• Setup and program vision system according to quality specifications
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance, and perform preventative maintenance programs
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
• Responding and supporting to both Process and Production calls to the production lines.
• Trouble shooting, preventive and predictive maintenance;
• Communication with coworkers, shift supervisors and managers on emergency or planned jobs
• Involvement in projects and new equipment installations.
• Communicate with production personnel and technical staff within maintenance and suppliers;

5S

• Adheres to IPC’s 5S program which includes the standards to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety at the facility. In addition, it outlines the audit program including zones, frequencies, and responsibilities.

• Education: College Diploma or Electrical Certification preferred
• Experience: <2 years of experience in the electrical field
• Experience with PLC’s and computer skills would be considered an asset
• Must be self-motivated and results driven
• Ability to work independently as well in a team environment
• Commitment to the health and safety of all employees
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer focus
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities
