Job Description

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale School of Medicine is expanding its clinical practice and seeks an outstanding Vitreoretinal-trained Ophthalmologist to join the Division. The candidate must be eligible for an appointment as an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at Yale University School of Medicine.

The department has a long-standing tradition of excellence in clinical care and research in multiple subspecialty areas of ophthalmology. Our faculty provides clinical services for patients at Yale Medicine Ophthalmology, the Dana Clinic at Yale New Haven Hospital, and the West Haven Veterans Affairs Hospital. We have a strong and competitive residency program, which consists of 15 residents, along with two fellowship programs.

The Department is affiliated with the Yale New Haven Health System, a growing healthcare system including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael’s Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and Westerly Hospital. We have outpatient offices in New Haven, Guilford, Norwalk, Madison, Waterford, Greenwich, and Stratford. The Department is expanding into Fairfield County, New London County, and beyond. Our department is growing, with plans to double its clinical and academic footprint over five years, adding multiple new clinical and research faculty members to coincide with this geographic expansion.

Qualifications

Candidates should have an MD degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Connecticut.
