heOphthalmic Technician 1(OT1)is competent inthe theory,principles,and practice of eye care.The positionperformsappropriate clinicaltestingin compliance with department standardsanddocumentsin the EMR system.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs anddocumentsthe following items in the electronic medical record.
Reason for visit
Tangent screen visual fields
Chief complaint
Basic ocular motility
History of present illness
Pupillary evaluation
Basic review of systems
Ocular surface assessment
Review systemic and ocular medications
Eye drop administration
Recordallergies
Intraocular pressure suchasGoldman, Tono-Pen, and I-Care
Pharmacy information
Pachymetry
Family, social, medical, and ocular history
Insertion and removal of hard & soft contact lenses
Visual acuity at distance and near
Color vision test
Lensometry
Stereopsis test
Manual refraction
Sensorimotor exam
Confrontational fields
Automated & manual perimetry
Humphrey visual fields
Virtual Reality (VR) visual fields
Amsler Grid visual fields
Providessupport to providers whichincludesdocumentation in patient charts asrequiredand directed for patient care
Providespatient-centric care.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma orequivalent
Certification and Licensing:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience:
1year of relevant experience
