The Department of Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic Arizona invites applications for an Ophthalmologist to join our team as an Ophthalmic Hospitalist Consultant. Based at Mayo Clinic Hospital - a tertiary referral center without a Level 1 trauma designation - this position focuses on providing high-quality inpatient and emergency ophthalmic care while collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple specialties. The successful candidate will join a supportive, team-oriented environment that values clinical excellence, professional growth, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide inpatient and emergency ophthalmology consultations for a variety of acute and urgent conditions.
• Perform minor ophthalmic procedures at the bedside or in clinic, as appropriate.
• Evaluate and manage ocular emergencies, including open globe assessments.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine and other ophthalmology specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Participate in initiatives that enhance clinical quality, patient safety, and education.
• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
