Job Description

Park Nicollet welcomes applications for an Ophthalmic Assistant III to join our Eye Care team supporting special testing, peds, and specialty ophthalmology. The Ophthalmic Assistant prepares patients for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, and treatment, ensuring quality patient services. This role will support Goldmann visual fields, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology. The Ophthalmic Assistant will have knowledge of age-related growth and development principles, general ophthalmology equipment (including phoropters, keratometers, slit lamps, tonometers, corneal and retinal imaging, retinoscopes, lensometers, and visual fields), and general computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, image viewing software, and Epic).

Work Schedule:

  • Day shift, two days per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification through JCAHPO as an Ophthalmic Assistant within two years of hire date (must be certified at the COA level).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited home study course in Ophthalmic Assisting OR
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR
  • Satisfactory completion of a Medical Office Assistant program OR
  • Equivalent related experience.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union 0.4 FTE (32 hours per pay period) day shift position, working in Burnsville, MN. The full salary range for this position is $24.76-$37.14 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for benefits. Park Nicollet is a qualified nonprofit employer under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
