This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to operate multi-million-dollar equipment while working close to home just 38 kilometres south of Mackay. Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd operates with a name plate capacity of 85 million tonnes per annum exporting coal from Central Queensland to ports around the world. This wouldn’t be possible without great people - people just like you.
MRAEL is partnering with Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd to provide an Operator Traineeship Program to support the growth of locals to join the mining and transport industries. At the end of your Traineeship, you will obtain a Certificate III in Resource Processing, and a Certificate III in Surface Extraction, along with other relevant Mobile Equipment Licences.
The successful candidates will be employed by MRAEL, hosted to Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd and supported by highly qualified employees to gain practical on-the-job experience, whilst undertaking classroom style theory-based training.
MRAEL and DBCT P/L are looking for candidates who are willing to learn, have a positive attitude, are safety conscious and have a keen interest in heavy industry.

DBCT P/L will be holding an assessment centre interview process and candidates need to be available to attend on 08 October 2026
