Job Description

Safety-Kleen Systems, a Clean Harbors Company, in Wichita, KS, is hiring for an Operator - Oil Recycling to join their safety conscious team!

Work Schedule: 12-HR Rotating Shiftwork Schedule (4 days on, 4 days off on a 2-month days 2-month night rotation)

  • Monitor meters, gauges, and control systems to ensure proper operation of oil recycling and processing equipment
  • Read and interpret instrumentation to track system performance and identify abnormalities
  • Inspect equipment for unusual vibrations, noises, or operational issues; report and address as appropriate
  • Operate in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete required on-the-job training
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic mechanical work, including use of hand tools and minor equipment repairs
  • Execute and document preventative maintenance tasks, including equipment cleanings and minor tear-downs (e.g., pressure washing internal components, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate operational and maintenance logs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Track, manage, and report department PPE inventory to ensure availability and compliance
  • Complete all required monthly training modules within established deadlines
  • Attend and actively participate in Health & Safety tailgate meetings and all required company trainings

What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen?

  • High School or equivalent - preferred;
  • Forklift experience - preferred;
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a production driven environment - required;
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a refinery or chemical processing environment - preferred;
  • Must be able to interpret instrumentation - required;
  • Proficient in computer systems and standard software applications - required;
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy - required;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively - required;
  • Solid foundation in algebra and quantitative problem-solving - required;
  • Must be able to communication and work with a team - required;
  • Mechanically inclined a plus - preferred;
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work at heights, climb and stand for long periods of time - required;
  • Ability to work around rotating equipment, high temperature equipment, and high pressure equipment - preferred;
  • Ability to be on call 24-hours as needs - required;
  • Ability to work long weekends, holidays, and extended scheduled as needed - required;
  • Work in all weather conditions - required;
