DuPont’s Fayetteville Works site has exciting opportunities for Operator/Mechanic(s)
The Operator/Mechanic is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting chemical process equipment.
Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Load/unload trucks, and other containers to manage raw material and product inventories.
Perform mechanical tasks and preventive maintenance
Issue work orders and prepare job plans, to prep and maintain equipment and facilities.
Review and revise job procedures
Schedule work and manage overtime
Operate various types of mobile equipment
Participate in emergency response activities
Know and adhere to safety, environmental and housekeeping responsibilities and rules
Serve on the site Emergency Response Team
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of work experience in a chemical, mechanical, electrical or similar process (may include manufacturing, maintenance, electrical, and/or instrumentation) OR a two-year technical certification or Associate’s Degree (or higher) in a related field (preferably in manufacturing technology, maintenance, electronic, electrical, or engineering).
Valid Driver’s License
Willingness and ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime, under various conditions including some outside work in all weather conditions
Demonstrated computer skills
Demonstrated knowledge of math; the ability to understand trend charts and scale reading
Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to self- manage and function as a member of a diverse work team
Willingness and ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights.
Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Willingness and ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment), including an air-supplied respirator, during daily work schedule
Ability to use common hand tools
Preferred:
Maintenance skills/Mechanical aptitude.
Previous work in a chemical/manufacturing environment
