About the role

We are seeking safety-focused and reliable Operator - MCU team members to join our operations at Cannington Mine, Queensland.

This role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and is available as a FIFO or DIDO opportunity. Onsite camp accommodation and meals are provided.

As an Operator - MCU, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of blasting products by operating specialised equipment, working closely with customers and site teams, and contributing to a high-performing safety culture.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience operating heavy vehicles, mobile plant, underground equipment, or similar machinery in mining, construction, manufacturing, transport, agriculture, defence, or other industrial environments.

What you will be doing

  • Operate Mobile Manufacturing Units (MCUs) and associated equipment within underground mining operations.
  • Support the safe and efficient delivery of blasting products in development and production environments.
  • Provide operational support and technical guidance to customers and site personnel.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and assist with preventative maintenance activities.
  • Support the delivery of products and services in accordance with operational procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and complete required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality service outcomes.

  • Experience operating heavy vehicles, mobile plant, underground equipment, or similar machinery in a safety-critical environment.
  • Strong safety awareness and a commitment to following procedures and industry standards.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
  • A Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence, or the ability to obtain one as required for the role.
  • Experience with blasting operations, charge-up activities, explosive product delivery systems, or electronic blasting systems is advantageous.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain any regulatory clearances, licences, or certifications required for the role, including a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance.
  • The ability to meet the inherent requirements of the position, including completing any pre-employment assessments required by law and company policy.
