About the role


Our West Metals business continues to grow, and we’re looking to bring on experienced MCU Operators to join our high performing blasting team, based out of Adelaide.

In this role, you’ll operate Mobile Charging Units across various underground customer sites, playing a critical part in the safe manufacture, delivery, and charging of explosives. You’ll be supported by a strong safety culture, proven systems, and a team that takes pride in delivering quality outcomes every day.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What you will be doing

  • First and foremost, demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
  • Safe operation of underground Mobile Charge Unit manufacturing and delivery of explosives.
  • Conducting routine inspections and performing minor maintenance of fixed and mobile plants.
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members;
  • Working in tight unison with the Drill and Blast Team.
  • At all times acting with integrity and respect.

What you will bring

  • A Heavy Rigid Vehicle License;
  • Previous charge-up experience; (Preferred)
  • Underground mining experience in any field (Highly Regarded)
  • Must be able to obtain a Dangerous goods license, blasters license and security card;
  • Strong commitment to safety;
  • Ability to commit to FIFO / shift work;
  • Proven experience within a mechanical environment or a similar industry preferred;
  • The ability to work autonomously and be part of a high performing team.
