About the Role

NOV Tuboscope Tananger is looking for a new Operator to join our Recut Department. This position involves operating a Make & Break machine (busking unit) and working with assembled pipe components. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work and can perform tasks accurately and systematically in accordance with technical requirements and operational procedures.

As part of an established and experienced team, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence while supporting our customers in the oil and gas industry.


About the Company

Tuboscope Norge AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of NOV. Our core business is the inspection and treatment of drill pipe and drilling-related equipment. With locations in Stavanger, Kristiansund, Florø, and Mongstad, we employ approximately 150 people across Norway.

The Tananger facility specializes in drill pipe services and provides technical support to customers operating in the energy sector. Through innovation, expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality, we help our customers maximize equipment performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate Make & Break machinery (busking unit) safely and efficiently
  • Assemble and disassemble pipe components according to technical specifications
  • Perform measurements and document completed work accurately
  • Follow technical instructions, work procedures, and quality requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE standards and company policies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Additional / Preferred Responsibilities

  • Support other operational activities within the workshop as required
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Participate in training and competency development activities

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Technical understanding and ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
  • Good communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work safely and efficiently
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience operating Make & Break machines or similar mechanical equipment
  • Valid forklift certificate (T1–T4)
  • Valid overhead crane certificate (G4)
  • Experience reading technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools
  • Previous experience from manufacturing, workshop, oil & gas, or related industries
