Operator III is the lead specialist level classification in the Equipment Operator series.
The Operator III performs skilled duties and demonstrates proficient operation of heavy equipment used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of county roads and right-of-ways. Operates medium and heavy equipment, such as skid steer, asphalt paver, roto mill, motor grader, backhoe, front end loader, tandem-axel trucks, tractor-trailer or truck and trailer combination. Duties vary by district and may include operation of equipment in the preparation of final asphalt overlay, hauling materials, and assisting in graveling roads, shoveling, raking, sweeping, traffic control, and snow and ice control. Assist with manual labor for asphalt roads, gravel roads, and culvert maintenance, repair and construction. Act as a lead worker/operator for small field crews when assigned.
Hiring Rate: 35.10-36.86 USD Hourly
Full compensation range for this job profile: $28.08 - $35.10 - $42.12 USD Hourly

We offer an additional $2.50/hour Remote Location Differential to all employees who work at our mountain shops (Shaffers, Critchell, Evergreen, Lookout Mtn., Indian Hills, Coal Creek).
