The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or using pallets, forklifts, or other equipment. This position ensures the quality of the products by enforcing SQF (food safety), GMP (general manufacturing practices), quality policy, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complies with all company and department-specific safety, SQF, and GMP policies and procedures.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material, and equipment needs.
  • Lift and move pallets and products off and on shelves and trucks.
  • Handle paperwork associated with product items.
  • Assists with loading and unloading deliveries at retail, company warehouses, and supplier destinations by using hand jacks, electric low lifts, and forklifts.
  • Timely and accurately load and unload tractor-trailer trucks per ticket requirements.
  • Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling and storage.
  • Maintain accurate inventories.

About you:

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Required
  • Prior forklift experience
  • Skilled and knowledgeable use of forklift-mounted radio-frequency (RF) system.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to read, write, interpret, and record documents such as safety, BOM, SQF, and GMP rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use scales and have general math skills in percentages, fractions, and decimals
