Job Description

While WM New Zealand is well known for our iconic red trucks and the role, we play in keeping our communities and environment clean and safe, many people might not be aware of our Technical Services division. This is a specialist team of highly qualified staff with purpose-built processing facilities and specialised Dangerous Goods transport. WM Technical Services can process hazardous and liquid wastes safely and with full compliance to government and council laws and by-laws governing liquid and hazardous waste disposal.

About the Role:

As an Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating our equipment for the processing of medical and biosecurity waste in a safe and responsible manner. With full thorough training provided, this will include a buddy system to ensure safety and confidence within the workplace.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and operating bin lifters and conveyors
  • Operating the Rotoclave steam sterilising units
  • Unloading the sterilising units
  • Foam washing and lining of bins.
  • Movement of wheeled bins around the plant (up to 200kg)
  • Some lifting of containers – up to 20kgs
  • Palletising of export waste
  • Some forklift work.

Skills/Requirements:

  • A great can-do attitude and willingness to learn. (All training will be provided)
  • Forklift experience is desirable but not essential.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills
