The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking an Operator II , Film Coating to perform operations as described by our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in our Film manufacturing Department located in Rochester, NY. You will prepare sets-up and assemble components needed for production, visually inspect components for defects, operate and troubleshoot equipment issues while strictly following all regulations and requirements including cGMP's, OSHA, FDA, and ISO regulations.

This opportunity is located in Rochester, NY.

Work Schedule:
Must be available to work a flexible shift environment, including weekends, based on business needs. The schedule utilizes a bi-weekly rotation for primary shifts, with an overnight shift reserved for business-critical overtime.

Shift A (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM): Part of the primary bi-weekly rotation. Employees work Shift A one week and alternate to Shift B the next.

Shift B (2:15 PM – 10:45 PM): Part of the primary bi-weekly rotation (alternating weekly with Shift A). This shift requires occasional mandatory overtime.

Shift C (10:15 PM – 6:45 AM): An overnight overtime-only shift. Schedule coverage on this shift is mandatory based on business needs.

The Responsibilities

  • Strong dependability.

  • Exceptional decision-making skills.

  • Preferred knowledge in the areas of film or paper coating, web conveyance (roll to roll splicing), zenith pump, solution delivery systems, and mechanical assembly.

  • Must have basic computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • The ability to read and write in English.

  • Knowledge and experience with GMP/ISO regulations is preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting of equipment is required.

  • Physical work condition demands for the position include standing, bending, and stooping -some lifting not to exceed 45 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating parts and repetitive motions.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to complete production schedule on time.

  • Accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.

  • Using SAP reporting systems.

The Individual

Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience 3+ years.

  • A minimum of 3 months experience in operations/manufacturing environment (prefer a regulated industry).

  • Must have basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, outlook).

  • The ability to read and write in English.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting of equipment.

  • Physical work condition demands for the position include standing, bending and stooping -some lifting not to exceed 35 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating parts and repetitive motions.

  • Ability to work a varying schedule of shifts (combination A-B-C).

Preferred:

  • Experience with quality information systems (i.e. SAP).

  • Knowledge and experience with GMP/ISO regulations.

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples. Up to 75% of the time you will be, standing, walking or sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Manual dexterity for manipulating parts and repetitive motions are required. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range is $20.75 to $23,38 hourly and is bonus eligible.
