Job Description

About the role:

The DIDS Operator supports the day to day operations of the plant by combining and adding dry / raw ingredients into the equipment for mixing process in the production of liquid and solid chocolate. This position will always be responsible for completing and submitting all required paperwork in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for dumping the dry ingredients and flavoring per the dry ingredients order
  • Ensures that all dry ingredient bins and hoppers are loaded to the correct level
  • Prepares all miscellaneous liquid ingredients and adds them to the batch at the proper time and in the proper sequence
  • Responsible for material handling as it relates to the DID Station
  • Has responsibility for the sanitation of the working area
  • Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP requirements, and ISO 9000 standards for his area and function
  • Must comply with all OSHA standards
  • All other duties as assigned by Management
  • Committed to providing a safe food product
  • Works within all regulatory requirements
  • Ability to adhere to GMP, HACCP, & FSSC 22000 practices and all other food safety requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as required

About you:

  • High School diploma or equivalency and a minimum of two years of appropriate supervisory experience in a food-manufacturing environment. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate appropriately with Supervisors and Co-Workers (Verbal and simple written reports are required)
  • Must be able to apply supervisor’s directions
  • Must be a results oriented individual, who thrives on situations involving pressure
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the equipment and its operation within 30 days of actively training on the job
  • Must obtain forklift certification as soon as possible after receiving position
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to develop an understanding of Barry Callebaut factory production capabilities
  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold and dust.
