Your Responsibilities

As a Training & Demonstration Specialist, located in Coal Valley, IL you will help dealers, employees, and customers operate John Deere construction equipment with confidence while strengthening the customer and dealer experience through effective training, demonstrations, and product expertise.

  • Partner with Training teams to develop equipment training content and serve as a subject matter expert for machine operation.
  • Deliver training sessions for employees, dealers, and customers at Davenport, IA; Sacaton, AZ; and dealer locations.
  • Support demonstration site operations.
  • Travel approximately 50% to support dealer training, demonstration sites, and customer engagements.

What Skills You Need

  • Expert-level construction equipment operation experience.
  • Strong understanding of customer applications in site development, underground, or road-building environments.
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage priorities across locations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Comfort working in field environments, with the ability to be as effective on a demo site or jobsite as in the classroom.
  • Knowledge of the John Deere dealer channel, construction products, markets, and competitors.
  • Surveying experience and/or experience with Topcon, Trimble, or Leica systems.
  • Hands-on machine operation or on-site construction equipment experience

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Technical Discipline or equivalent related work experience
