Carpenter Co has an immediate opening on 1st shift for an Operator B in our LMATT department at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of equipment used to manufacture components and finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule. This position is also responsible for assembling foam parts, operating machinery , and maintaining the department/work area ensuring it is free of unnecessary material and/or debris. This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and loud noise.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to maintain daily communications with Department Manager and other employees in the department. Major responsibilities involve producing products with varying cutting instructions based production requirements.

Your additional responsibilities as an Operator B will include:

1. Records pertinent data into the SAP system
2. Conducts quality checks of all material to meet customer specifications
3. Make sure all finished product is labeled correctly
4. Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment
5. Assist with inventory
6. Performing quality check processes by measuring material and ensuring that it matches the specification on each label
7. Perimeter edge foam manufacturing and packaging
8. Operating the bale machine
9. Wrap, seal and label foam according to customer specifications and customer quantities

Skills and requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime

The Operator B hourly rate starts at $17.90 per hour.
