Job Description

This role at Calderys involves operating a press machine in a production environment, ensuring smooth daily operation, basic maintenance, and adherence to work instructions and safety standards. The operator also monitors material quality and quantity, reports issues, supports stacking and mold changes, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while working in a shift-based team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out the instructions received from the supervisor.
  • Has responsibility for one stacker operator under their supervision.
  • Operates the press in accordance with the press operating and start-up instructions.
  • Carries out the instructions given in the production work order.
  • Performs daily maintenance of the press.
  • Reports any malfunctions observed in the press to the supervisor.
  • Reports any issues related to the quality or quantity of the produced material to the Supervisor.
  • Reports any problems in the stacking order or quality of the stacked material to the supervisor.
  • Checks the raw material stock on the press and informs the mixer operator if there is any shortage.
  • Fills out the shaping and control tracking form.
  • Reports any disruptions or deficiencies observed.
  • Assists during mold changes.
  • Is responsible for the maintenance of tools and machines used in brick measurement.
  • Provides maximum support to projects conducted by the OPEX Directorate and submits requested data and documents on time.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time reaching climbing/balancing; 2/3 of time standing, kneeling, crawling speaking/hearing; and less than 1/3 of time sitting.
  • Lifting: Requires lifting to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of time.
  • Vision: Requires accurate close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.
  • Environment: Requires 2/3 or more of time working near moving mechanical parts and less than 1/3 working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and/or in extreme heat.
  • Noise: Requires exposure to very loud noise.
