DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products, and recycling services. We are currently looking for a motivated and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our team in Louth.

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of production machinery within our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for your own and others’ health and safety, working strictly in line with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and company procedures

• Proactively challenge and report any unsafe acts or hazards, ensuring all incidents are escalated immediately

• Operate machinery effectively to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime

• Meet productivity and performance targets while maintaining consistent quality standards

• Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning activities in line with planned schedules

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site

Candidate Profile (Desirable)

• Experience operating high-speed production or packaging machinery

• Strong commitment to Health & Safety best practice

• Proactive approach to continuous improvement

• Good understanding of quality standards and reporting procedures

• Team player with strong communication skills

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude

• Basic understanding of paper and packaging processes

• Good mechanical aptitude
