Nuclear Waste Operator (Medior) – Decommissioning & Operations

Contract: ASAP – 31 December 2026 (Full-time, 9 months)
Job Type: Interim (Temporary increase in workload)
About the Role
We are looking for a Medior Nuclear Waste Operator to support decommissioning and operational activities within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.
In this role, you will contribute to the dismantling of nuclear installations and the treatment of radioactive waste, ensuring all activities are carried out in strict compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Execute operational and preparatory tasks for decommissioning and decontamination activities
Perform dismantling work, including removal of pipes, metals, and materials using appropriate tools
Support preparatory construction activities (e.g., scaffolding, intervention shafts)
Carry out tasks related to radiological operations in accordance with safety procedures
Identify, report, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with colleagues
Ensure continuity and efficiency of work through proactive problem-solving
Apply technical expertise to address both routine and non-standard challenges
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
Test new tools, equipment, and solutions, and report findings
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations
Participate in risk assessments and safety briefings (e.g., toolbox meetings)
Perform administrative tasks, including:
Reporting work progress
Recording waste types and quantities
Completing operational documentation
Apply 5S methodology to maintain an organized and safe work environment
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in technical or industrial operations (nuclear or high-safety environments is a plus)
Practical skills in the use of tools and technical equipment
Knowledge of radiological safety procedures is an advantage
Strong problem-solving ability in technical contexts
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
High level of attention to safety, quality, and compliance
Languages
Dutch: Native or bilingual proficiency
