TekniPlex Healthcare is a respected business partner that specializes in the manufacturing of medical and pharmaceutical packaging for companies around the world. We aim to deliver better patient outcomes by manufacturing products that allow for less invasive procedures, reduced pain, faster healing, and safer drug delivery. We are currently hiring for an Operator I – 3rd Shift teammate located in Ridgefield, NJ The pay rate for this union position is $21.39 plus shift differential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other machine safety requirements when servicing or cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all documented work instructions, standard operating procedures, and shop pack requirements.
  • Monitor equipment operation in accordance with documented production requirements.
  • Accurately record production data and operational information on production reports and shop pack documentation.
  • Assemble and prepare packaging materials and labels and oversee the filling of finished goods to specified weights and quality standards.
  • Perform routine in-process quality checks at designated intervals to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Safely disassemble, inspect, clean, reassemble, and prepare processing equipment for operation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through proper housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure proper labeling, collection, and handling of production and quality samples.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and efficiency while minimizing scrap and maximizing equipment uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic production line and equipment issues as needed.
  • Report safety, quality, equipment, or production concerns promptly to supervision or maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in shift handoffs and communicate production status, issues, and priorities effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility in supporting different production areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years previous quality assurance experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions in English, including safety procedures, cleaning requirements, special instructions, and production documentation.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations to ensure accurate production reporting.
  • Forklift experience a plus.
  • Ability to input and retrieve information from computer software.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hour workday.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
