True North Salmon, a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company’s Quality Assurance Team based out of our facility located in our St. George, NB facility.

The Role

As a result of our robust growth, we are seeking an Operations Yield Specialist to join our Production and Maintenance teams in our St. George location.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor

The primary duties and responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform maintenance duties while production is running to ensure consistent line efficiency.
  • Change spare parts as required and as trained.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities, including sharpening knives, greasing components, and replacing spare parts in alignment with the preventive maintenance program.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends when needed, to complete preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform work that may involve standing for extended periods, occasional climbing, lifting/carrying 1–15 lbs., and push/pull tasks up to 10 lbs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Mechanically inclined and/or possessing an electrical background.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-demand, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Understanding of how production lines and machinery should run.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) considered an asset; training can be provided.
  • Always demonstrates respect toward coworkers.
  • Ability to remain calm, level-headed, and professional in all situations.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to the Company’s mission, values, and workplace culture.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a busy production setting.

Working Conditions:

  • Production-floor environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires standing, lifting, climbing, and movement throughout the shift.
  • Willing to work weekends as required to complete preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Able to work overtime based on production and maintenance needs.
  • Able to work either day shift or night shift as a reliever, depending on operational requirements.
  • Available Shifts/Hours are as follows:
    • Monday to Friday Day Shift: 6:30AM - 3:30PM
    • Monday to Friday Night Shift: 5:30PM - 2:30 AM
    • Continental Night Shift: 5:30PM - 6:30AM
