  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm (Must be flexible, this role works nights on occasion)

What you’ll be responsible for each day:

The Operations Trainer - Translator is a liaison to employees ensuring a quality onboarding experience and contributes to building a sense of employee community and belonging. This position translates spoken/written or video content to employee base for the purpose of keeping employees informed of critical information (operations, quality, safety, Human Capital - benefits, policies, etc.). The Operations Trainer - Translator works directly with Human Capital and the Operations team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate material(s) or conversation into appropriate language.

  • Ensure onboarding experience is positive for new hires.

  • Support production in developing operational competency for new hires/new roles.

  • Track competency trainings of new hires.

  • Ensure the preservation of original meaning and intent for employee information.

  • Provide additional insight as gathered in conversation/translation.

  • Draft SOPs/job content as necessary to enhance work quality.

  • Assist Human Capital in conducting two-week new hire check-ins and capture data.

  • Assist in employee relations situations as translator when necessary.

  • Facilitate orientation and onboarding process for Hispanic employees who do not speak English.

  • Translate Quality and Safety practices/methods to Spanish speaking employees.

  • Interview Spanish speaking candidates and translating back to recruiting team.

  • Translate for purposes of open enrollment, VIBE survey, company programs/initiatives.

  • Learn and understand all plant roles.

  • Ability to regularly work multiple shifts.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain flexible schedule (shifts) to address situations as they arise.

  • Support general Human Capital operations.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Safety Protocol

    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

    • Support safety policies, programs, and annual training.

The individual who will own this role:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Translation/production work-related experience preferred.

  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish required.

  • Ability to understand Spanish written language required.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • None

Skills Required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.

  • Display sensitivity to different cultures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and coworkers.

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

  • Our Little Chute, WI, plant is home to about 95 employees. This facility is a top manufacturer of IQF sticks that are supplied to the appetizer industry. Next to the plant is our well-known Simon’s Specialty Cheese store, which has about 20 employees. Simon’s is a Wisconsin-themed store, with everything from meats and cheese to clothing and craft spirits.
