About the Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.

The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.

About the Opportunity

Play a key role in developing the capability of the
people who keep Australia's rail network moving safely every day.

As an Operations Trainer, you'll design and deliver
engaging training programs that equip Network Controllers with the skills,
knowledge and confidence to perform in a highly regulated operational
environment. Working closely with operational leaders, you'll coach, mentor and
assess employees while driving continuous improvement in training practices,
operational standards and workforce capability.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accredited and non-accredited training, including Trainee Schools, recertifications and competency assessments.
• Facilitate face-to-face, virtual, eLearning and blended learning programs.
• Develop personalised training plans to support capability development and remedial learning.
• Maintain training records and competency compliance in line with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor training effectiveness through observations, feedback and performance data.
• Maintain operational currency and model best practice in Network Control operations.
• Develop and review work instructions, procedures and learning materials.
• Support incident investigations, user acceptance testing and continuous improvement initiatives as a subject matter expert.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify capability gaps and implement practical learning solutions.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, train operators and external training providers.
• Promote a positive learning culture focused on safety, collaboration and operational excellence.

What do we want from you?

You'll be passionate about developing people and
creating engaging learning experiences. You enjoy coaching others,
communicating complex information clearly and working collaboratively to
improve operational performance.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment essential for externals (or willingness to obtain for internal applicants).
• Certificate IV in Rail Network Control essential for internals (or willingness to obtain for external applicants).
• Demonstrated experience in rail operations or another highly regulated operational environment.
• Strong understanding of rail safeworking principles and operational procedures.
• Experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programs.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A calm, professional approach when working in fast-paced operational environments.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (desirable).
• A growth mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and developing others.
