At T&G Global, we’re passionate about growing healthier futures. Our Whakatu Packhouse is a fast paced, high performing environment, and we’re looking for an Operations Technician to take a key seat in the heart of our operation, the Control Room.

About the Role

This is not your average operations role, this is the “hot seat.”
You’ll be responsible for managing real time packhouse operations, balancing multiple inputs, and making quick decisions to keep production flowing efficiently.

From coordinating fruit flow and staff allocation to monitoring machinery and responding to live production challenges, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring everything runs smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing and optimising packhouse production from the Control Room

  • Managing multiple inputs (radio, team communication, system data) in real time

  • Monitoring sizer performance, fruit flow, and packing priorities

  • Adjusting production settings to meet quality and customer specifications

  • Responding to alarms, faults, and production issues quickly and effectively

  • Coordinating with supervisors, quality, logistics, and production teams

  • Ensuring accurate system inputs across Compac and SAP

  • Supporting continuous improvement and off-season optimisation projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and make fast decisions

  • Strong multitasking skills, you can juggle multiple priorities with ease

  • Confidence working in a highly communicative, fast-paced environment

  • Solid computer skills, particularly with Excel and operational systems

  • A technical mindset with the ability to learn machinery and systems quickly

Highly regarded:

  • Experience in packhouse or production environments

  • Knowledge of Compac sizer machinery or similar automated systems

  • Control room or operations coordination experience
