Job Description

Overview

Susquehanna is seeking an Operations Technology Analyst to join our Trading Operations team. This is a technology-led role for someone with strong computer science fundamentals and software development capability who wants to solve complex problems in a global trading environment.

Sitting within Trading Operations, you will act as a bridge between the business and our Technology teams. You will work closely with Operations to understand workflows and requirements, build solutions directly where appropriate, and collaborate with our engineering teams on larger-scale applications, services and platforms.

You will work across the full development lifecycle, from understanding the problem and designing the solution through to development, testing, implementation and ongoing support. As we build new capabilities, you will also help shape solutions where AI is considered as part of the underlying architecture from the outset, rather than added as a separate layer.

Through rotations across Trading Operations, you will gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of Susquehanna’s trading activity and develop an end-to-end understanding of how our desks, Operations teams, technology platforms and external counterparties interact. This is a growth opportunity with significant scope to help shape our Operations Technology capability across APAC.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, test and maintain technology solutions that improve how Trading Operations works.
  • Translate operational problems and business requirements into effective technical solutions, acting as the bridge between Trading Operations and Technology teams.
  • Use Python, SQL and other appropriate technologies to develop applications, automate processes and improve operational efficiency and controls.
  • Help design new solutions where AI can form part of the underlying architecture, identifying where AI-native approaches can fundamentally improve how operational problems are solved.
  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, applying sound engineering principles around architecture, design, scalability, maintainability, testing and integration.
  • Rotate across Trading Operations teams to develop an end-to-end understanding of the trade lifecycle and the business processes behind the technology.
  • Support Operations projects and day-to-day activities, using that hands-on exposure to identify opportunities for technology-led improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of our Operations Technology capability, tools and ways of working as the team grows across APAC.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience & education: You will typically bring around 3–5+ years’ experience in software development, technology-enabled Operations or another relevant technical environment, including experience taking solutions through the software development lifecycle. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical discipline is required. Financial markets or Trading Operations experience is advantageous.
  • Passion for Tech: You enjoy building things and applying technology to real problems. You have strong programming capability and practical experience with Python, SQL or other languages and technologies.
  • Strong technical foundations: You understand object-oriented programming, software design principles, databases and testing, and can think beyond the immediate code to how a solution should be architected, integrated and maintained.
  • Problem Solver: You enjoy breaking complex problems into logical components, challenging assumptions and working through different approaches to find an effective solution.
  • Numerical & Logical: You use data, evidence and sound reasoning when making decisions and are comfortable working through technically and operationally complex problems.
  • Communicator: You can explain technical concepts clearly, build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ambitious & Curious: You set high standards for yourself, enjoy learning and have a genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies, including how they can influence the fundamental design of new systems and solutions

What’s in it for you

  • Greenfield opportunity: Join a growing Operations Technology capability and help shape how solutions are designed, including how AI is built into the architecture of new capabilities.
  • Real impact: Build solutions that solve genuine business problems and see the impact of your work across our Operations and trading environment.
  • Broad exposure: Develop an end-to-end understanding of the trade lifecycle through rotations across Trading Operations while continuing to deepen your technical expertise.
  • Education & support: Learn from experienced colleagues across Operations, Trading and Technology, with access to external education allowances and ongoing technical and professional development.
  • Culture & ownership: Our flat hierarchy enables you to drive meaningful impact, leverage your expertise and take ownership. The environment is casual, collaborative and focused on continuous development.
  • Office & food: Enjoy health insurance offering, a stocked kitchen and a generous daily in-office lunch allowance.
  • Community & benefits: Take part in regular social and community events, alongside matched donations, corporate discounts and employee referral bonuses.
