Are you an experienced Team Leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Healthcare Australia is seeking a hands-on and people-focused After Hours Operations Team Leader to lead our national after-hours rostering team and ensure critical healthcare shifts are filled across Australia. This role manages our national after-hours rostering function; however, the position itself operates within this rotating roster:

Working Pattern!

This role operates on a rotating roster across weekdays and weekends:

  • Weekday shifts (8 hours): Start between 1:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Weekend shifts: Start at either 7:00am or 3:00pm
  • Weekend days: Saturday and Sunday
  • Weekdays: Monday plus two additional days of your choice

Once fully trained, team members may be asked to cover Night Duty shifts (10:30pm – 7:30am) on an as-needed basis to support operational requirements.

  • Night Duty shifts are not part of the regular roster and only occur to cover staffing gaps.

Reporting to the After Hours Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Operations Consultants responsible for workforce allocation and urgent shift bookings across evenings and overnight periods.

You’ll balance people leadership, operational delivery and stakeholder engagement to ensure our healthcare clients receive seamless after-hours support.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Lead and coach a high-performing After Hours team
  • Ensure critical healthcare shifts are filled through smart rostering
  • Manage escalations and complex bookings in a calm and solutions-focused manner
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Monitor inboxes
  • Support onboarding, training and capability development within the team
  • Identify and action process improvements and operational growth
  • Stay hands-on by jumping on the phones when needed

We’re looking for a confident, people-focused leader who stays calm under pressure and knows how to lift team performance in a fast-paced environment.

You bring demonstrated experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role, ideally within customer service, call centre, workforce planning or recruitment settings. You’re a capable coach who knows how to manage performance, provide clear feedback and keep teams motivated to hit their goals.
