
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) support youth and community services through contracts with community-based organizations throughout New York City. DYCD Youth Services, encompassing programs such as BEACON, COMPASS , CORNERSTONE, RHY, SNL, and CACFP programming, seeks to support community-based organizations high quality after school services through funding, monitoring, coaching, capacity, evaluation and advocacy.
DYCD Youth Services is seeking an Operations System and Data Specialist to join the Youth Services Operations Team. The Youth Services Operations Team offers specialized support and guidance to the entire Youth Services initiative with facility set-up and licensing, policy development, contract compliance and performance, data analysis and interpretation, unit operations and efficiencies, system overview and enhancements, and communication to contracted providers.
The Operations Systems and Data Specialist will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on data quality, system optimization, and operational efficiencies.
This role will report to the Deputy Director of Financial and Information Management Systems within the Youth Services Operations Unit. Key Tasks include:
- Maintain, update, and monitor core data systems to ensure accuracy and performance.
- Provides technical assistance to contractors and program units to strengthen compliance and improve
the quality of programmatic tracking data.
- Collaborate with the DYCD Tech Support Team, program units, and contractors to assess data needs,
test system configurations and enhancements, and troubleshoot data and system issues.
- Analyze current systems, workflows, and processes to identify areas of potential improvement
opportunities.
- Prepare and share performance reports that identify trends and provide actionable recommendations
to support internal program units during performance evaluations.
- Support program units in complying with agency required documentation requirements, such as
program evaluations.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and tracking financial information and communicating updates to stakeholders
- Communicates with contractors to address questions, clarify policies, contract requirements and provide
technical assistance.
- Provide support across various DYCD initiatives such as the DYCD Complimentary Transportation Program.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
